This project is a piece of black cardboard with white strips of paper placed to create emphasis and contrast. The shadows are very interesting when you shine a light on the side. It is card board and paper.
This piece was inspired by many works created with repetition. We used coffee straws and spray paint to create these. I used bright colors to emphasize the book and glasses. The muted colors are on the wine glass because I wanted it to feel more adult. The title is due to what I was trying to say with the piece. A lot of times, we go through the motions of life and that can get boring. Some enjoy a sip of wine and a good book and do not live. I say you should read and enjoy a book, but live too! Enjoy life and maybe you might be able to relate to the book more easily.
This is my project I did after being inspired by Anish Kapoor. The white represents the climb of life and the black piece shows that we start in darkness. The green piece is meant to show confusion and how we don't always understand what's happening or who we are. The blue hook is a tear drop for all those times we cry and break because we feel like we're at the end of what stress we can take. The crazy piece is colorful on one side because we are unpredictable and crazy, but it's bare on the other side because we are still simple children. I call this piece, Talking About My Generation, after the song by The Who. The Dimensions: 19.5 in x 10.5 in x 5 in
